Paul Pogba: Solskjaer slams media treatment of Man Utd Star amidst Real Madrid links

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has slammed the media over the treatment of the midfielder Paul Pogba.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has squashed the rumours circling around Paul Pogba, suggesting there may be an agenda against the Red Devils star.

In the pre-season tour in Australia, the Norwegian claimed about the transfer availability, amidst Real Madrid links. The French International, who moved to Old Trafford in 2016, has not received any bids according to his manager.

During the off-season, Paul Pogba iterated his stance by wanting a ‘new challenge’, before being fueled further by his agent. Despite these two statements from the player’s camp, Solskjaer is keen on retaining the Red Devils star.

There looked to be a spat between Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard, but those reports have been rubbished by Solskjaer.

He said: “It looks like [there’s] an agenda against Paul,”

“He’s a top, top bloke. He’s a great professional. He’s never been any problems. He’s got a heart of gold.

“For example, yesterday, Jesse and Paul were walking around and it’s been portrayed as a fight between the two boys. But there’s nothing, no problems between the two boys at all.

“Paul’s never put himself out of the team, he’s always wanted to play, he’s always given his best.

“Agents talk all the time. As I said we’ve not had any bids from any clubs, that’s all I can say about this matter.” added Solskjaer.

The likes of Real Madrid and Juventus have been linked with the player, but they are yet to place a concrete bid on the table. Even though the Old Lady are allured by the prospect of landing him, they are not willing to splash out £150 million, the money demanded by the English side. Zinedine Zidane, who is a huge admirer of the midfielder, has been put off by the price tag too.

Here’s how Twitter has reacted..

What’s next?

Paul Pogba is likely to stay at Manchester United, unless either Juventus or Real Madrid lodge a ridiculous bid.
