Premier League transfer rumours The Big 6 and their weirdest transfer rumours this January

Tottenham

Following Jose Mourinho’s appointment as Tottenham boss, Spurs have been linked with a host of names. These names include several of his players from his previous clubs. However, the award for the most ridiculous name on offer has to be Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke according to the Sunday express.

Tottenham are currently without a proper striker following Harry Kane’s injury. They need to add a new striker to the squad if they are to qualify for the Champions League. However, Benteke is far from the solution Spurs require.

The Belgian can’t even find a regular spot in the playing 11 for the Eagles. In fact, for all his talent, Benteke has only scored 4 times in his last 65 games for Palace. A far cry from the numbers Harry Kane was pulling in. The Lilywhites would be better off employing Lucas Moura as their number 9 instead of Benteke this season.

Arsenal

Apart from Liverpool, Manchester City and to an extent, Chelsea, most of the other clubs that were expected to do well have been well below par. Arsenal would consider themselves the worst among the lot. The club understand that they would have to be aggressive in the transfer market if they are to return to the Champions League once again.

To that end, the club have been linked with a host of names in January including Manchester City’s John Stones. While several of them have some possibility of happening due to Arsenal still being a big name in the market or the players’ unhappiness at their current club, the one most unlikely to happen is Leicester City’s Wilfried Ndidi’s move to North London.

According to Leicestershire Live, the club that is looking extremely good for a top 4 finish, have been offered the chance to sign Granit Xhaka in exchange for a man who is already being compared to N’Golo Kante.

Not only is Leicester performing head and shoulders above Arsenal but the player is of paramount importance to the side. This news easily takes the cake for the worst transfer rumour associated with the Gunners.
