Wicketkeeper for RCB vs RR Dream 11
Sanju Samson and Parthiv Patel will be fighting it out for the wicketkeeper’s spot and while both of them are playing really well at the top of the order, I would have to give it to Sanju Samson on pure skill. While Parthiv has more Dream 11 points to his name(Sanju did not play a few games in the middle phase), Samson clearly has more talent with the bat and hence I would be opting for him.
Bowlers for RCB vs RR Dream 11
When you play at the Chinnaswamy, Dream 11 Fantasy managers need to stay away from bowlers. While you need to have 3 in your team, the best you can do is ensure that you don’t spend a lot on them, so that you have bucketloads of money left for the batsmen and batting all-rounders.
Chinnaswamy is a graveyard for bowlers and has completely returned to its true self this season, after being a little sticky and sluggish in the last two seasons.
Navdeep Saini would be the first bowler that I get in for this game. He has been consistent all through the IPL, getting crucial wickets during the powerplay and chipping in with a few cheap wickets at the end too. Get him in for sure.
As 8 cr bowlers are the one’s I am looking for for this game, there is none better than Varun Aaron. He fits the bill perfectly, as he has been brilliant in the last couple of games and helps me massively with my cost constraints.
For the final bowling pick, I have two choices. either to go in with a 8.5cr worth Jaydev Undakat, or hope that Pawan Negi plays, and draft him in. If Negi plays, I am definitely going in with him, as he helps me with my budget. But if he doesn’t, I’ll go in with Unadkat, who has in the last two games, found some luck and form. I get him in over other options, as he is designated to bowl at least two overs at the death and could end up bamboozling a few batsmen with his off-cutters.
All-Rounders for RCB vs RR Dream 11
Batting all-rounders is the way to go at the Chinnaswamy and there is no better than Marcus Stoinis(at least for this game). He has played some brilliant cricket for RCB in the lower middle order, using the long handle to good effect. He walks into my RCB vs RR Dream 11 team.
For the second all-rounder, I go in with the highly talented Riyan Parag, who has played some feisty innings for RR, especially in that handsome win against KKR at the Eden Gardens. A pure stroke maker, Parag will enjoy the Bangalore track, just as he did in Kolkata and could really take apart this fragile RCB bowling unit.
Batsmen for RCB vs RR Dream 11
Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers walk into my team for this game, despite having been knocked over by Shreyas Gopal in the reverse fixture. This track wouldn’t offer the same kind of assistance to Gopal, who would find it tough to get through the defences of these two stalwarts. On a flat track, you just can’t leave these two out.
Ajinkya Rahane and Steve Smith have benefitted from swapping roles a few games back. Rahane has been playing some free flowing cricket at the top, a side of him that we have dearly missed over the past 2 years. Burdened by captaincy, Rahane wasn’t able to play fluent cricket, but has now exploded and could really eat into the RCB bowling unit.
Steve Smith on the other hand relished captaincy, as the added responsibility just helps him bat better in the middle. His sense of purpose seems to have solidified and has turned him into a better batsman.
For the final batting pick for this game, I would be getting in Gurkeerat Singh Mann, who slotted into that lower middle order for RCB in the last game. He is the only batsman worth 8cr that would feature in this game. Now, if I get in Pawan Negi, I can get in Livingstone, who opened the batting quite admirably for RR in the last game.
If you want to be a little adventurous and put all your eggs into the batting basket(if you feel 400 runs would be scored), get in a dummy bowler for 8cr and get Livingstone in for sure.
