Romelu Lukaku sends Matthijs de Ligt back to Ajax with a classy nutmeg during the match between Inter Milan and Juventus in the Serie A.

Romelu Lukaku made his desire to leave Manchester United public after it was made known to him that he was not Ole Gunnar Soslkjaer’s first choice striker heading forward. The Belgian was then poached by Inter Milan on deadline day.

Manchester United decided not to replace the outgoing striker and chose to place their trust on Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial instead. Since then however, the Red Devils have had a hard time finding the back of the net.

Apart from the match against Chelsea, they have failed to score more than once in a single match this season. Lukaku on the other hand has been rather effective at the San Siro under former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte; who has wanted his services since when he was handling matters at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian outfit have proven to be worthy opponents to Juventus for the Italian Championship in spite of their loss to them last night. Lukaku has fit in Conte’s plans rather smoothly and has proven many of his naysayers wrong with his performances.

In fact, on the same night that United humiliated themselves by losing 0-1 to Newcastle, Lukaku was busy making a fool out of Juventus’ costliest defender Matthijs De Ligt.

Romelu Lukaku collected a pass at a little short of the half-line before he held off an opponent. De Ligt charged into the Belgian. However, Lukaku tricked the ball between his legs to break his press and launch a counterattack.

The only fault in the entire run was the final ball. However, Lautaro Martinez managed to launch an attack that forced Wojciech Szczesny into a save.

Both Inter and Juventus were yet to lose in the competition. However, it was Juventus that left the field with their unbeaten streak intact after Gonzalo Higuain’s 80th minute strike won them the match.
