Chelsea News: Huge breakthrough in Frank Lampard move to Stamford Bridge

Derby County confirm that Frank Lampard has been given permission to talk with Chelsea.

Derby County has confirmed that Chelsea has been granted permission to talk with Frank Lampard. In a statement released, the Championship club assured that their manager will be allowed to conclude the talks with the Blues.

The statement read the following: “Derby County Football Club can confirm that they have granted permission for Chelsea Football Club to speak to Frank Lampard about the vacant managerial position at Stamford Bridge.

With pre-season fast approaching for both clubs it is hoped this will allow Chelsea to swiftly conclude their discussions.

The club will make no further comment until it is appropriate to do so.”

Frank Lampard nearly brought Derby County back to the Premier League. The failed to overcome Aston Villa in the playoffs finals, but he has several sides have taken note of it. He also managed to beat Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in the League Cup at Old Trafford, earlier last season.

The English International has managed 57 games for the League one outfit, and has managed to register 42% victory record. He has gone on to win 24 games, draw 17, and lose 16 in the process.

There were various reports that the 41-year-old has allegedly agreed on a three-year deal with the club. The signing could be announced in the upcoming week – during the kick off of the pre-season.

Players including Didier Drogba and Tammy Abraham have already spoken about his plausible return to Stamford Bridge as a boss. He does not have a transfer to work on, as the young faces queue up in line to give a headache to the West Ham graduate.
