Pep Guardiola confirms Barcelona return with his statement

Pep Guardiola confirms his return to Barcelona after the Manchester City manager discusses his future plans post England stint.

There have been several speculations regarding Pep Guardiola‘s future, and  with his contract with Manchester City is coming towards final two years, reports have furthered fueled. Especially, a return to Barcelona, over where he gained massive success.

However, the Spanish manager gave a clarification, according to a report by the Express, Guardiola has agreed that he will come back to Barcelona soon. However, he has denied that he will take an administrative role.

“I will return to Barcelona sooner or later. But as president, forget about it,” he said at a presentation for the Cruyff Foundation in Els Hostalets de Pierola.

“To be president, you have to know [what you’re doing] and be prepared; to have knowledge that I don’t have. I’m trying to be a good coach; that hasn’t gone too badly in this decade. I will return to Barcelona to live, sooner or later.”

The 48-year-old manager has not managed a side beyond four years of tenure, and might live out this period with the English Champions, if he completes his contract with Manchester City.

The Citizens are also keen to further extend his contract with Guardiola but it seems unlikely that he will extend it beyond the current year.

Guardiola is known to take a sabbatical, every time he quits managing a side, and is expected to do same, once he leaves Manchester City around 2021.

So, it seems that Barcelona would have to wait for their club hero, who raised through the ranks of La Masia, to further play for first team till 11 years and finally took the Catalan side to a historic season, in the debut season as a manager.
