El Mundo Deportivo have reported that the Spanish tax authorities have been investigating the former Barcelona star and have come to the conclusion that he owes 35 million euros in unpaid taxes.
The Spanish treasury probed into his statements he made in his 4 years at Barcelona. They also investigated his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017. They also reported that in 2017, Neymar lived for more than 183 days in Barcelona. Therefore, he should have paid his annual tax returns as a resident of Spain. However, he failed to do so.
If Neymar fails to pay the amount then he could have his properties seized and could end up being dragged to court. This could prove to be a massive roadblock for the 27-year-old who is aiming a return to Barcelona this summer.
