Jose Mourinho plots return to club management with Real Madrid. The Portuguese has turned down multiple offers with an eye at Zinedine Zidane’s job.

For the first time in almost 20 years, Jose Mourinho finds himself without a football club at the dawn of a new season. He last managed Manchester United but was unceremoniously sacked last summer following United’s abysmal showing in the Premier League.

Mourinho is one of the most successful managers in the world of football. He has openly stated that he desires a return to the game he loves. However, the Special One has reportedly turned down multiple offers that have come his way and is holding out for a return with a specific club; One that he has managed before in the past.

Spanish outlet AS have reported that Jose Mourinho is keeping tabs on the proceedings at Real Madrid. Following Los Blancos’ dismal showing in the pre-season, the Portuguese wants to make himself available in the event that Zinedine Zidane gets sacked at the Bernabeu.

If things run smoothly at the Spanish Capital by January, then the Special one will reconsider his position. However, he is aware that he is also keenly followed by the higher ups in the club. He also enjoys a good relationship with club president, Florentino Perez to further strengthen his case.

Mourinho was handed the reins of Real Madrid in the summer of 2010. He went on to win the Copa Del Rey in 2011 and edged Barcelona to the La Liga title in the next season. He spent 3 years in the Spanish Capital before he returned to Chelsea for a second stint with the Blues.
