Ansu Fati: 3 facts about Barcelona’s 16-year-old player, who made his first team debut against Real Betis last night.

Barcelona Vs Real Betis was a goal-fest last night with a combine of 7 goals being scored, the Catalan giants won the game with three goals lead in hand.

It was quite relishing for Barcelona fans to see their team dominating in the absence of Lionel Messi and Luiz Suarez. Barcelona’s new signing Antoine Griezmann took Barcelona’s baton to make them win against Los Verdiblancos.

On the other hand, amidst the absence of key players like Messi, Suarez and Ousmane Dembele, youngsters like Carles Perez and Ansu Fati got their Barcelona debuts.

Both of them had a spectacular game, as Perez even scored a goal. Later, the 21-year-old forward was replaced by Fati to make his debut.

The 16-year-old player from La Masia is the second youngest player to make a debut for Barcelona. The youngest is Vicente Martínez Alama, who made his blaugrana debut aged 16 years, 9 months and 5 days in the 1940s.

Ansu remained just 20 days behind to break this record. Otherwise, he would have been at the top of the list. Overall, the player had a great debut coming at the 78th minute, the unknown name at start received massive applause by the home fans.

#1 Barcelona had to take permission from Fati’s parents

Barcelona had to take consent from Fati’s parents to appear the 16-year-old in the squad ahead of their match against Real Betis.

La Liga laws insist no underage player should be played in late night fixtures without the authorization of his parents.

And his club was said to have gotten the consent from the teenager’s guardian before his inclusion on match day squad. Which made his appearance possible after the 78th minute.
