Former Real Madrid legend and Cristiano Ronaldo teammate Iker Casillas calls Lionel Messi as GOAT after he scores a stunning goal last night.

In the list of millions of Lionel Messi fans, the Argentine superstar got a new admirer but he has an exceptional case, as the person is none other than former Spain and Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas.

The Porto keeper called Messi as the greatest of all time on social media after he scores a brilliant match-winning goal against Atletico Madrid, which technically keeps Barcelona at the top of La Liga table.

Meanwhile, he also praised Marc Andre Ter Stegen and called him a top goalkeeper, who gave several lifelines to Barcelona with his spectacular saves last night.

In the post by Casillas, he wrote: “Formula for football: goalkeeper 🔝 (top) & player 🐐 (GOAT). Today Barca took the three points at Wanda Metropolitano. Atletico has played well but lacked composure in front of goal. Blaugrana remains top of the league. Atletico has to fight for the Champions League zone,” Casillas tweeted, hinting that he believes Messi is the GOAT (Greatest of All-Time).

Although Messi was not at his best and struggled to be effective, it takes only a moment of brilliance for Messi to overturn the fortune of the game and that’s what exactly happened in the dying minutes of the game.

Casillas would be glad that he doesn’t have to face Messi consistently, as he the Argentine superstar is always in form against Real Madrid and has his second-best record against Los Blancos after Sevilla.

Messi will probably head for the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris tonight, over where he is tipped to carry the award back to Barcelona. Then the team will play in La Liga on the weekend.
