Real Madrid Transfer News: Zinedine Zidane to complete fourth signing of summer transfer window

Ferland Mendy will sign for Real Madrid in the upcoming days.

Real Madrid have been ruthless in the summer transfer market. The Los Blancos ended without a major trophy for the first time in six years and this has forced the club to take an action soon.

The Spanish giants have already signed Eder Militao, Eden Hazard, and Luka Jovic to bolster their squad. They will now welcome the fourth signing of the transfer window by welcoming Ferland Mendy from Lyon, according to Marca.

The French International has been on Real Madrid’s shortlist for a while following his impressive spell with Lyon. The left-back is expected to sign for Real Madrid in the upcoming days after commitments with French national team.

The 24-year-old has medical pending, although the signing can be made official, similar to Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic. The attacking duo has medical pending and the same will apply for Mendy too. His participation in France’s Euro qualification have delayed the announcement as France conclude their proceedings on Wednesday.

Rumours were rumbling about the problem with his hip, although there has been no medical held till date. The transfer will be completed once he finishes his current International commitment with his nation and signs contract with Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane has already spent nearly 200 million on acquisitions and the signing of Ferland Mendy will eclipse that amount to nearly 240 million. The full-back will cost 40 million upwards which will not distort Real Madrid’s plans. Zidane is currently rebuilding the side after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and several ageing players have not assisted the club to regular standards.

Paul Pogba and Christian Eriksen have been linked with the club. Zinedine Zidane will be able to sign only one amongst those two.
