Rahul Johri resignation: BCCI yet to accept its CEO’s resignation
Rahul Johri resignation: The first Chief Executive Officer of the BCCI has offered his resignation after a three-year stint.
Rahul Johri, who became the first Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India in 2016, has resigned from the post after a three-year stint with the richest cricket board of the world.
If sources are to be believed, Johri decided to resign primarily because of the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators finishing their term at the BCCI. With Sourav Ganguly taking over as BCCI President, the CoA no longer have any role in the working of the BCCI.

“[Rahul] Johri’s resignation will be accepted but it might take some time. He is trying to negotiate,” a source close to the BCCI was quoted as saying by PTI.
If reports in Times of India is to be believed, Johri is expected to have resigned “some time ago”. “He quit some time ago. We have no idea what his plans are in the near future,” a source was quoted as saying by TOI.
“We don’t even know who all he had marked his email to or if he’s given it in writing to the office-bearers. But it’s certain that he has submitted his resignation,” the source added.

Being asked about the development by Times of India, Johri said that he has “nothing to say” on the matter. Much like Johri, Ganguly, BCCI secretary Jay Shah and treasurer Arun Dhumal also remained unavailable for comments with respect to the resignation.
After the Supreme Court-appointed Lodha committee passed orders regarding the appointment of a CEO back in the day, Johri had taken charge under the then BCCI President Shashank Manohar and secretary Anurag Thakur.
