Barcelona confirms Lionel Messi’s injury, claims would be return for La Liga return

Barcelona confirms Lionel Messi’s injury, denies that it is serious and has claimed that he will return before the restart of La Liga.

Lionel Messi has constantly been troubled by his thigh injuries this season and once again, just a few days before the restart of La Liga, he was reported to have discomfort on his thigh.

Barcelona confirmed on their website that Messi has minor trouble with his thigh, but also said there is nothing to worry about since Messi will gain fitness in a few days.

The Argentine International despite the discomfort trained alone as per the club website. “Barça captain Leo Messi has a minor right quadriceps injury and trained in isolation, doing specific exercises to avoid unnecessary risks with just eight days remaining before Barça finally get back to playing matches. He should be able to rejoin his team-mates in a few days’ time.”

Messi earlier in the season missed many matches because of several thigh injuries this season, he even joined the pre-season training late and missed all of the games before the official start of the season.

Barcelona fans seemed really worried when Messi was often declared injury and now this comes as a sign of worry. However, the club’s assurances would calm the fans down.

La Liga is set to begin next week and Barcelona is currently leading the table, with arch-rivals Real Madrid just 2 points behind them in the table.

The club further says For tomorrow’s Saturday session the players will train again, but unusually, this session is going to be on the pitch in the Camp Nou as Setién works to get his players ready for the return to football, but with games being played behind closed doors.

Messi will probably not be engaged in this session and might continue training alone.
