Lionel Messi was given a yellow card 11 minutes later for kicking an opposition player. A minute later Nelson Semedo was booked for bringing Yannick Carrasco down. This resulted in Atletico’s 2nd penalty of the night. Niguez Saul took the kick from the spot.
Barcelona keeper Ter Stegan managed to get a massive hand on it. However, the ball trickled over the line to allow Atletico Madrid to draw level once again.
Real Madrid now have the opportunity to widen the gap between them and Barcelona to 4 points in their next match. With just 6 games left in the competition, Barcelona cannot afford any more slip ups if they are to retain their title.
