Daniel Ricciardo drops a letter in acknowledgement of BLM movement
Daniel Ricciardo drops a heartfelt letter in the form of a diary entry in support of the Black Lives Matter, where he acknowledged his privilege.
The Black Lives Matter movement has received massive support from the sporting fraternity irrespective of origin and race. In this list, F1 racer Daniel Ricciardo also expressed his support.
The Australian racer offered his support after writing a heartfelt letter towards the movement in the form of a diary entry, which he later published on his social media accounts.
Ricciardo openly told that he needed time to offer his words on the subject and he thoroughly observed everything before making a ublic statement.
In the statement he published, he openly accepted his privilege of belonging to a ‘white Italian Australian family’ and acknowledged the unconscious wrongdoings he might have done in the past.
His words were widely accepted on social media and fans are now admiring him even more for showing maturity over this issue and being an ally in the struggle of people of colour.

After the death of George Floyd, the movement of BLM was born and Lewis Hamilton (the only black driver in the F1 fraternity) was among the first people to voice out his opinions.
The British driver even pointed out the silence of his rivals and colleagues, for which he even got some criticism but it at least made others break their silence over it irrespective of the stance.
Hamilton has now decided to take a knee ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix and F1 authorities have claimed that they have no objections over it.
Therefore, it is possible that other F1 drivers, who have been vocal against racism and police brutality might also join the initiative taken by Hamilton on race day.
