David Warner dismissal vs Delhi Capitals: The captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad appeared pretty confident regarding him not edging the ball.

During the 11th match of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals in Abu Dhabi, Delhi Capitals wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant insisted captain Shreyas Iyer to opt for a successful review which saw the departure of Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner.

It all happened on the third delivery of the 10th over when Warner’s attempt of reverse-sweeping veteran Capitals spinner Amit Mishra proved costly for him. Having hit a boundary off Mishra in the same manner on the first delivery, Warner couldn’t produce the same result later in the over.

With less room to play the shot, Warner survived despite Pant and Mishra’s loud appeal. However, replays confirmed that the southpaw had gloved the ball to Pant. While the spike on UltraEdge was minimal, it was enough for the third umpire to overturn the decision.

Opening the batting with wicket-keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow, Warner departed after scoring a sensible 45 (33) with the help of three fours and two sixes on a slowish surface.

Earlier, it was Iyer who won the toss and chose to bat. While Delhi made a lone change in bringing in Ishant Sharma for Avesh Khan, Hyderabad benched Wriddhiman Saha and Mohammad Nabi for Kane Williamson and Abdul Samad.
