‘Michael Jordan never asked us to do what he f**king didn’t’: Clip displaying Bulls legend’s unbeatable mindset from The Last Dance goes viral
Michael Jordan is the gold standard among the hard workers in the history of the NBA. This video illustrates how he set an example for his team.
There are quite a few accounts of Jordan’s work ethic. In addition to being naturally fit at a superhuman level, Jordan also put in work like few others. An example of this is how he went to the weight room every offseason and put on weight to take on the Detroit Pistons.
One of Mike’s worst offensive skills when he came into the league was his jumpshot. You can see it in his title-winning shot in the NCAA basketball final of 1982 – far from a finished product. Contrast this with how he became the most efficient high-volume midrange shooter in league history by the end of his Bulls career.
Viral video shows how Michael Jordan approached training and practice with teammates
Jordan was unrelenting with his teammates, often getting on their back because of his competitive streak. But he was also a natural leader and he had a confrontational style of leadership. This led to him being revered for his work ethic as well as his ability to set the right example.
Jordan took great care to never overextend his teammates in training. He said as much on The Last Dance:
“If you ask all my teammates… ‘The one thing about Michael Jordan was he never asked me to do anything that he didn’t f*%king do.’”
“If you ask all my teammates… ‘The one thing about Michael Jordan was he never asked me to do anything that he didn’t f*%king do.’”
Leadership is action, not words.
This will never get old. This way of leading will never be wrong.#MondayMotivation pic.twitter.com/VZg8PHMsla
