“Maybe our car was worse than Ferrari’s”- Verstappen on Red Bull preparation
“Maybe our car was worse than Ferrari’s”- Verstappen disses Red Bull citing his son gave made more out of the car than it was capable of.
Max Verstappen on the table was the only challenge to Mercedes this season, as he remained on the podium in all the races he had completed this season barring the only one in Turkey.
Speaking on it, Max’s father Jos Verstappen takes a dig at Red Bull and compares it with Ferrari’s most horrific season in this century while saying that his son made the most out of the car than it was capable of doing.
“Max always drives at 110 per cent. That’s why we don’t really know how good or bad the car is; maybe our car was worse than Ferrari’s …”, Jos says to Formule 1.
Ferrari in 2020 was nowhere to its former self and ended up 6th in the constructors’ standings, and the Maranello based team knew that they had very little to hope for this season.
Apart from this, Jos Verstappen even tried to find Red Bull at wrong in Alex Albon‘s case, as per him the fact that Albon looked bad next to Verstappen says something about the speed of the car that Red Bull Racing put on the asphalt last year.
The senior Verstappen always held Albon at high esteem since the Thai born driver was in his karting days, so he suggested that the above scenario be true.
With the same car, who is the best driver.
Verstappen has further said that he doesn’t mind Hamilton and his son contesting in the same team and have told the press to be clear about his stand on this possibility.
“Let me put it this way: I wouldn’t mind if Max would drive alongside Hamilton. Therefore it’s clear what I think,” he said.
