There were always going to manifold suitors lining up to woo Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori as the Chelsea defender grew increasingly dismayed at his role at the club. And much to AC Milan’s jubilations, the Italian outfit has finally won the race to indulge in the services of the centreback.
Increasing their interest in the defender across the course of the last week, AC Milan made first real contact with Chelsea in the same period. And things have progressed extremely quickly between both the parties with Tomori asserting his willingness to move to the club.
Tomori to AC Milan
Sitting down at the table to chalk out the nitty gritties of Tomori’s move to Italy, both the clubs have finally reached a consensus. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Chelsea defender is slated to move to AC Milan later this month on loan till the end of the season.
The deal also includes an option for AC Milan to sign Tomori permanently for 26 million pounds once the deal curtails. However, the Serie A outfit has no obligation purchase the defender.
Fabrizio Romano said of the deal on Twitter: Fikayo Tomori is set to join AC Milan from Chelsea. The agreement is expected to be completed next week on loan with buy option [no obligation] around €30m. Tomori will fly to Milano in the next few days. Here we go soon.
AC Milan upped the ante for their pursuit of the player after losing out in the race for Mohamed Simakan. The club has been assiduously scouring for a name to bolster its backline as the side strives to fortify its position atop of the Serie A.
AC Milan are currently in first place with the three points seeing them sit above Inter Milan. The deal is slated to be a solid proposition for both the parties with Chelsea not losing out on a wonderkid who has showcased his expertise in abundance.
