WATCH : Lionel Messi scores a beauty against Espanyol

While it has been a tough old time for Barcelona, their fans can take some solace in the fact that Lionel Messi is still at the club.

Even after being their talisman for so many years, Messi is still as important to Barcelona than he has ever been. In fact, some might say that Neymar’s departure has made the Catalan club even more dependent on Messi.

But with age catching up with the little genius, some feel that Messi’s powers may start to wane this season.

Not that any one told this to Messi. The Argentian has scored 5 goals in his first 3 games this season, after completing a splendid hat trick against Espanyol.

Messi was typically brilliant as he treated the Camp Nou to yet another career hat trick.

One must surely wonder through, for how much longer can this genius weave his magic?
