WATCH : Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli involved in a disastrous run-out
Australia finally managed a win during the ongoing 5-match ODI series, as they broke a 9-game winning streak in the format for Team India.
Australia had set a target of 335 after the first innings thanks to a mammoth opening stand which included Warner’s 124 and Finch’s 96. India pulled it back in the later overs, but were still set a daunting total.

India began the chase in terrific fashion, thanks to a fifty from Ajinkya Rahane while Rohit Sharma started off brilliantly as well. Rohit has fond memories of Bengaluru as well, scoring a double-hundred when he last met Australia at this ground.
Rohit was well on course to replicate that knock, but a bizarre mix-up resulted in an unfortunate casualty on the pitch. Skipper Virat Kohli guided a ball from Kane Richardson to backward point, and set off for a run, but Steve Smith made a diving save.
The Australian skipper’s brilliant effort was followed by a throw at the batsman’s end, but it missed. However, Travis Head, who was backing up at midwicket quickly realized the opportunity and throws the ball back to the bowler, who whips the bails off before Rohit Sharma could make it in time.
Rohit was run-out after scoring a 55-ball 65, which in the end was not enough for India to get over the line and maintain their winning streak.
