“Wow”: Martin Guptill amazed by Devon Conway’s exquisite boundary over extra cover off Shoriful Islam in Hamilton T20I
Devon Conway’s exquisite boundary: The wicket-keeper batsman from the home team scored a couple of boundaries in the powerplay to get going.
During the first T20I of the ongoing Bangladesh’s tour of New Zealand in Hamilton, New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman Devon Conway scored a couple of boundaries in the powerplay to get going.
Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the second over, Conway played five deliveries before hitting his first boundary through the point region off Bangladesh’s Shoriful Islam.
In the same over, Conway once again stepped out to exquisitely hit a delivery over the extra cover fielder for a one-bounce four. The manner in which Conway maintained his posture after hitting the shot even impressed his non-striker and senior batsman in Martin Guptill.
Conway, who had scored a half-century and a century in the recently concluded ODI series against Bangladesh, seems to have carry forwarded his 50-over form to the shortest format as well to complete a fourth T20I half-century at the Seddon Park.
After New Zealand captain Tim Southee won the toss and chose to bat, New Zealand are is a sound position to post a formidable total despite missing some of their first-choice names.

“Wow” – you heard Guppy on the mic.
Down the pitch, over cover against a quick bowler. That is a ridiculous cricket shot from Devon Conway.

It’s now Will Young’s time to cash in 🤑, going big over mid-wicket. @BLACKCAPS looking a very sizeable total.
