“I want to race, with better work environment”– Daniil Kvyat attacks Red Bull while hoping for F1 return
“I want to race, with better work environment”– Daniil Kvyat hopes for a better work environment than Red Bull if he returns to F1.
Daniil Kvyat, after a love-hate relationship with Red Bull, was dropped by the Milton-Keynes-based team from his seat at Alpha Tauri, which is now taken by Yuki Tsunoda.
Yet, Kvyat hopes for his return to F1, and this time showing his resentment for Red Bull directly, he asks for a better working environment than what he got till now.
“Whatever it is, I want to race,” Kvyat told Motorsport.com. But, of course, the first thing you think of is Formula 1 because I think I can still show something.
“And hopefully, another working environment is better for me than where I have been so far. So I would really like another chance. But it’s not about what I like.
“Sometimes an opportunity comes, but sometimes it doesn’t. We will see what is possible in the short term. The next few months are crucial in that respect.
“And if something does come, there are plenty of other championships where I can race competitively and make a good living too.”
I couldn’t have achieved more.
Kvyat still believes that the current drivers working for Red bull, which includes Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez and Alex Albon, and in Alpha Tauri, the pair of Pierre Gasly and Tsunoda is there. Seeing this, he says he is proud of his achievements.
“Now I look back and see what drivers they [Red Bull] have now, I can be proud of what I achieved,” he said. “To be honest, I don’t think I could have achieved much more. That gives me confidence for the future, and I know what I can do.
“I could have been in the doldrums because of that time [at Red Bull], but in the end there are more drivers who struggled. In that respect, I look back on that time with my head held high.”
