Virat Kohli talks about India’s chances to win in South Africa
After a tremendous home season for team India, Kohli and his men will begin their much anticipated tour to South Africa in just a few days from now, as this promising Indian side will be looking to create history over the next one and a half years.
Starting from January, India will tour South Africa, England and Australia before flying off to England to compete in the 2019 World Cup.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri held a joint press conference earlier today, as the pair spoke of India’s chances in Africa.

Both Kohli and Shastri seemed confident ahead of the tour, as they reiterated the fact that this Indian side has the ability and confidence to do well abroad.
This is what Kohli had to say,
“You need to play cricket for long period of time to win abroad.”
“The hunger this time is the same. We want to do what we couldn’t the last time around.”
“It all depends on the kind of mindset. Cricket is played with bat and ball and if you are there mentally, every condition seems like a home condition.”
“You have to embrace the local culture to be able to do well there. The excitement is very important to be able to do well.”
Kohli also mentioned that his marriage celebrations are over and now his focus will shift to cricket.
“This was a special moment but was also training for South Africa in the last three weeks.”
“I was away for something which was more important. Getting back to the professional front won’t be difficult at all.”
“Playing cricket for the country is the most prestigious thing. If you win any game of cricket and win, you feel good. Our job is to give out 100 per cent. We are going out there to play cricket, it does not matter where we play.”
Ravi Shastri also had some encouraging words to say,
“We are all looking forward to the South Africa tour. It is going to be a challenge. We all know how tough it is to tour South Africa but that’s the beauty about their profession. Wanting challenges and embracing it. That’s what we are looking for.”
