Barcelona want to buy Andreas Christensen from Chelsea

Barcelona are currently flying at the top of the league, as Ernesto Valverde’s side have opened up a huge 14-point gap between themselves and Real Madrid in la liga.

The Catalan side have exceeded expectations this season, as no one expected them to perform so well after their disastrous transfer window in the summer.

Barcelona lost Neymar to PSG, and then failed to land Philippe Coutinho after publicly courting him for well over a year.

Valverde has been terrific this year, as he negated the loss of Neymar by tweaking the system and the personal on the pitch.

Neymar was brilliant for Barcelona last season, as he was at times carrying the team on his broad shoulders.

But Lionel Messi has stepped up for Barcelona this season, as the magical Argentine has rekindled some of his best form for the team this year.

Barcelona’s number ten looks highly motivated this season, as Messi has thrived in Neymar’s absence.

Even though Suarez has struggled this year, Messi’s brilliance has over shadowed everything else at the club, as Barcelona look set to lift yet another la liga title this year.

Valverde is now looking to strengthen his defense, as he has his eyes set on Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.

Barcelona are long term admirers of the defender, and want to prize him away from Stanford Bridge at the earliest.

A January move looks difficult, but that will not stop the Catalans from launching a bid this month.

If not this month, then Barcelona will definitely come back for him in the summer, as they need to find a long term successor to Gerard Pique.
