Will AB de Villiers play the RCB vs MI fixture?
AB de Villiers missed out on RCB’s last game against KKR due to a viral fever. RCB ended up losing the game by a handsome margin as Dinesh Karthik romped to an easy win, thanks to a calculative innings from Chris Lynn.
AB de Villiers’ absence was felt in the batting department, as Kohli emerged as the lone warrior, unable to find a suitable partner in the middle to help RCB go past that 200 run mark.
In the end the 175 run total proved to be at least 15 less than what RCB would have wanted to have.
Brendon McCullum had replaced ABD in the last game and opened the batting for RCB.
No official information has been received on ABD’s fitness but it is understood that a late call will be taken on his inclusion, as there has been just a 1 and a half day gap from RCB’s last game.
Although, no travelling has been involved, it is yet to be seen if ABD has in fact recovered from that viral fever.
If ABD is match fit, he’ll be drafted straight into the XI, mostly at the expense of BMac.
Virat Kohli could then partner QDK at the top of the order or Manan Vohra could be slotted into that role, with Kohli and ABD taking up the number 3 and mumber 4 slot respectively.
Both RCB and MI would be hoping to win this game as the two franchises are languishing at the bottom of the table for now, and would want to get some momentum with the business end of the tournament upon us.
