What Sergio Ramos did before Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty against Spain
Cristiano Ronaldo took the penalty composedly against Spain, even as David De Gea tried his best to distract the Portuguese forward.
Having played with Ronaldo over the past many years at Real Madrid, Spain’s captain Sergio Ramos knew exactly what was going to happen after Nacho fouled the Portuguese forward inside the box. Ronaldo stepped in to take the penalty and easily deceived De Gea, as he gave Portugal the lead.
However, a footage has emerged which revealed what Sergio Ramos did before the exact moment Ronaldo stood in his trademark style to take the penalty.
David De Gea came up to Cristiano with dominant walk to try and put him under some pressure, Cristiano then smiles at him causing De Gea to lose eye contact. Sergio Ramos subtly tells David De Gea to dive to his right, as he as observed Cristiano Ronaldo in many years at Real Madrid. However, ofcourse, Ronaldo shot the ball into the top left corner.
David De Gea had a horrible night against Portugal, as towards the end of the first half, the goalkeeper committed a howler as Ronaldo’s shot went in between his legs into the net.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s heroic performance, which included a terrific free kick in the final minutes of the game to level the scoreline 3-3, ensured a point for Portugal. Portugal will now face Morocco on June 20.
