“Michael Jordan Grabbed Dennis Rodman by his Nosering”: Last Dance Director and Jalen Rose Reveal Off-camera Secrets for Worm’s Vegas Trip
Dennis Rodman is one of the most controversial players in NBA history. The man was a problem child for most of the teams he played on.
Having started his career with the Bad Boy Pistons, it was almost certain that The Worm’s eccentric personality would carry forward in his career. And, it did just that.
Fast forward to his days with the Bulls. On one occasion, Rodman took a sudden trip to Las Vegas. One that took a toll on him. Unfortunately, Michael Jordan had an even bigger personality and dragged him back to practice by his nose ring.
Michael Jordan dragged Dennis Rodman by his nose ring following his Vegas vacation
The Last Dance documentary extensively covered the 90s dynasty of the Chicago Bulls. This includes all the off-the-court antics as well, which were aplenty seeing as Dennis Rodman was on the team.
For instance, Rodman’s trip to Las Vegas is notorious. It was a crazy trip, that left The Worm needing a staycation upon his return to Chicago. Sadly, he had promised to make it to practice, forcing Michael Jordan to cross the street near the United Center to Dennis’ apartment, where according to director Jason Hehir he dragged the 6’7″ forward to practice by his nose ring.
“His vacation…part of it took place in Vegas, but he got back and still felt like he was gonna do a “staycation” for a little bit in Chicago. So that’s when Michael said, “Alright! I’m gonna walk across the street.” It was literally across the street. So he went with the athletic trainer and banged on his door, and Michael I think he said off-camera that he grabbed him by his nose ring and took him out!”
Talk about strict treatment. Michael showed no mercy, even with his teammates. Safe to say, Rodman never had a “staycation” in Chicago after that.
Michael Jordan once tried to teach The Worm a lesson in practice but failed miserably
Following his trip to Vegas, a groggy Dennis Rodman returned to practice. In order to teach him a lesson, Jordan planned to force The Worm to keep pace with him and the rest of the team during jogging. Unfortunately for MJ, a groggy Rodman was still ready to go, as he set the pace for the jogging.
Things certainly backfired for the GOAT. But, Dennis definitely got his revenge for the whole nose ring thing.
