Virat Kohli showers praise over India after 2-1 victory against England in the T20I series
Indian Captain Virat Kohli was all praise for the Indian team after they clinched the T20I Series 2-1 against England.
Kohli was extremely pleased with the Indian team as he came to the post match presentation with a bright smile on his face. The satisfaction of pulling through a series win against one of the better teams in International Cricket was quite evident.
Kohli praised the way the Indian bowlers held through the match after going for plenty in the first 10 overs. The way that they took periodic wickets certainly helped them to bounce back in the game.
“The comeback from the bowlers was outstanding. At one stage we thought they’d end up getting 225-230. But the character they showed, that’s something we’re very proud of. Just hit our areas better I guess. We have the qualities to bowl wicket-taking deliveries as well. 25-30 runs in this format can be massive,” said Kohli.

Kohli also had several good things to say about all rounder Hardik Pandya who has really been an asset for the side. He has been a much improved cricketer in this series as he has starred with both bat and ball:
“Pandya is a really good all-round cricketer. He’s confident with his skills with bat and ball. The way he came back after his first over is what you want to see as a captain. Was difficult for the bowlers. We enjoyed ourselves as batsmen.”
This provides a lot of balance to the side and is the best thing that can happen to the team over the long run.
On the question of not playing Kuldeep, Kohli said, “Don’t like to look at hindsight and say we could’ve added another bowler. Guys came up with the good.”
In conclusion, Kohli focused on the fact that they would continue playing the fearless brand of cricket and keep making changes so as to figure out things in the lead up to the 2019 World Cup.
“We’re gonna continue and try different things. You saw the kind of energy and attitude we had on the field. It’s a great way to start the tour,” Kohli signed off.
