Virat Kohli executes a helicopter shot just like MS Dhoni
Indian Captain Virat Kohli executed a great helicopter shot in the 3rd T20I against England at Bristol which reminded many of Dhoni’s typical helicopter shot.
It was the first ball of the 14th over and India were well on their course of a victory. However, the match was still well-poised and could have gone towards any side.
The thing that was in favour of India though was that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were batting together and had piled up a great partnership. Rohit was batting on 77 off 42 balls and looked all set for a big one.

On the other hand, Kohli was comparatively going along with a lukewarm strike rate and was at 34 off 24 deliveries.
Plunkett today went for plenty as in his first two overs itself he had conceded 29 runs. As Plunkett ran in and bowled a near-perfect yorker outside the off stump, Kohli flicked with the help of his bottom hand and the ball went straight over long off for 6.

The peculiar thing about the short was that the ball went flat for six. It was quite similar to Dhoni’s typical helicopter shot. The reason being that the power was generated by the wrists and the ball was lofted despite it being so close to the body.
As the ball sailed over the boundary, Kohli too had a slight smile on his face as he had executed a short which is generally not associated with him.
