Barca delegation travels to France to negotiate transfer for Adrien Rabiot
Adrien Rabiot wants to leave the club, according to reports in Spain.
Barcelona have recently completed their first signing of the summer in Arthur Melo. However, one of their first-team regular last season Paulinho has left the club for Guangzhou Evergrande, and with Andres Iniesta’s departure at the end of the season, the Catalan giants are in no position to rest.
According to Mundo Deportivo, a Barca delegation, which also comprises of former player and technical secretary Eric Abidal have travelled to France. The Spanish outlet reports that Barca are keen on signing 23-year old PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot, and want to know if the club is in a position to sell the player.
Mundo Deportivo claims that Rabiot is unhappy at PSG and wants a move out. However, with growing speculations over Neymar’s move to PSG, the French club might not be willing to sell the young midfielder.
Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo, ‘don’t want to upset PSG like they did last year in their pursuit for Marco Verratti.’
Earlier, Barcelona received a setback when Real Madrid completed the signing of their transfer target Rodrygo, from another Brazilian club Santos. A few days ago, Barcelona also lost Daniel Gudjohnsen, the son of Eidur Gudjohnsen, to Real Madrid’s youth academy.
Barcelona completed their first signing of the summer earlier this week, as Arthur Melo joined the club from Gremio for a 40m transfer fee.
Ernesto Valverde is assisted by Eric Abidal, Ramon Planes and Pep Segura, who together are working on identifying the transfer targets for the summer.
