Real Madrid to sign Mauro Icardi
La Liga giants, Real Madrid, are reportedly holding negotiations with Serie A side, Inter Milan, over a possible deal for Argentine striker, Mauro Icardi.
Spanish outlet, Libertad Digital, has reported that the Los Blancos have sent their representatives over to Rome, Italy, in order to discuss a potential move with the Nerazzurris.
The report claims that Icardi’s representatives and wife had been pushing for a move to the Spanish capital ever since the Los Blancos were rumored to be interested in the 25-year-old striker. However, the rumors died down, as Inter Milan were reportedly not willing to offload their club captain.
However, reports from Libertad Digital now claim that Real Madrid’s representatives are in Italy to discuss the move and sign the Argentine forward.
On the other hand, Real Madrid would have to splash a lot of cash to sign the Argentine forward, with Icardi’s release clause (that expired weeks ago), being valued at €110 million.
With the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, a void has been created in Real Madrid’s front-line, as club President Florentino Perez is keen to fill that void. Real Madrid had been heavily linked with a series of forwards including big names of Neymar, Eden Hazard, Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe.
Real Madrid will also have about three weeks before the transfer window ends to get an addition to their attacking prowess in the squad. Mauro Icardi might be the best option for the Los Blancos, considering the fact that the other targets are too expensive to afford.
