The Brazilian is a regular visitor to the island as he owns private property in Ibiza.
Interestingly, former F1 star and Mercedes chief Niki Lauda also contracted flu while vacationing in Ibiza earlier this month, which developed into Pneumonia.
Ronaldo retired from football in 2011 after a hugely successful football career, throughout which he played for European giants like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter and AC Milan. The Brazilian star also played a major role in two World Cup wins for the national team in 1994 and 2002.
The Brazilian forward scored 352 goals in all club competitions, and struck the net 62 times in 98 appearances for Brazil.
Former England and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand took to Twitter to wish Ronaldo a speedy recovery. He wrote, “Just seen the news… hope your ok legend @Ronaldo get well soon!! #R9”
