Lance Stroll confirms he is on ‘standby’ for Force India move
Lance Stroll’s future in F1 would determine a lot about how the driver lineup for next year would look like.
A Lawrence Stroll led consortium brought Force India out of administration, when it seemed like the chips were down and the team might have to shut down.
However, Lawrence buying the team out has serious implications in the sport, as he wants his son, Lance Stroll, to take his ‘rightful’ position at Force India.
And the move can’t wait for next year, as Lance would be involved in the development of the 2019 car. Thus, the driver market is getting ready for some massive movement in the days to come.
However, in a recent interview with RaceFans(after the Belgian GP), Lance Stroll has revealed that is on ‘standby’ for a Force India move by Monza and is currently focussed on the job at hand with Williams.
“Yeah I’m on standby at the moment
“Right now I’m going into Monza the same mentality as always. I assume to be driving for Williams.” Stroll said as quoted by Racefans.
Further reports have stated that Lance Stroll is set for seat fitting at the Force India factory tomorrow.
If Stroll indeed completes his move to Force India this week, we could very well see Robert Kubica on the grid in Monza, in what would be an emotional return for the Williams reserve driver.
As far as the other movement in the driver market is concerned, we’ll have to wait and see what Sergio Perez has planned for the next season, as reports have suggested that he has already given his word to Haas.
Perez hold the cards for the next trickle down effect in the sport.
