MI vs SRH Super Over: Twitter reactions on Hardik Pandya nullifying Manish Pandey’s heroics as MI beat SRH
MI vs SRH Super Over: Twitter was exhilarated to witness Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Manish Pandey’s last-ball six.
During the 51st match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Mumbai, Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Manish Pandey hit a last-ball six off Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya to tie the match.
Chasing a 163-run target, Hyderabad lost wickets at regular intervals to make a difficult task of what shouldn’t have been a difficult chase. Manish Pandey, who came in to bat at No. 3 in the fifth over, top-scored for his team scoring 71* (47) with the help of eight fours and two sixes.
In what was another half-century from the right-hand batsman, Pandey continued his stellar form after coming back from being benched for several matches. Chasing 17 runs in the last over, Pandey and SRH all-rounder Mohammed Nabi brought down the equation to needing seven runs on the last ball.
With Hardik Pandya bowling in the batsman’s arc, Pandey didn’t hesitate from hitting him for a six over deep mid-wicket. With bowling figures of 2-0-20-2, Hardik Pandya was the pick of the hosts’ bowlers.
After Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat, MI posted a mediocre 162/4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Top-scoring for his team, wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock scored 69* (58) with the help of six fours and two sixes. Khaleel Ahmed (4-0-42-3) was the highest wicket-taker for the visitors.
In the Super Over, Hyderabad scored eight in four balls with losing both their wickets. Hardik Pandya, who faced the first ball for MI, scored a six off Rashid Khan to gain advantage in the contest. With Hardik taking a single and Kieron Pollard running a couple of runs saw Mumbai winning the match on the third ball.

Stunning finish — or not as yet — to the match! Mumbai looked like they had made fine defence of modest score by creaming off Hyderabad’s top order. Except @im_manishpandey, and what a hand he’s played to take it to the Super Over
