Chelsea took on Arsenal in the Europa League final at Baku, Azerbaijan. It proved to be a close contest as both sides came close to taking the lead. Granit Xhaka’s thunderous strike hit the frame of the goal in the 20-minute mark.

The Gunners had an abundance of space of exploit through the left-hand side, but the full-back Sead Kolasinac was not able to produce good deliveries to feed either Pierre Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette. Emerson’s two shots were parried away by Petr Cech comfortably, whereas, Olivier Giroud had an excellent chance in the 40th minute to hand over the lead.

The Frenchman’s shot was tremendously saved by Cech to keep the scoreline intact. Three minutes into the second half, Olivier Giroud was poised to hit the ball on target. The World Cup winner did it with perfection by diverting the ball away Petr Cech and register the first goal of the night.

It was not an easy technique to execute, but he did with plum to beat the goalkeeper convincingly. It was a great goal from the Blues, who are stamping the ascendancy in this game.

The Blues made it 2-0 through their winger Pedro. Hazard found the Spanish International inside the penalty box, who took the chance without the need for a first touch. Arsenal have a mountain to climb currently.
