Tony Khan reluctant to use Intermissions during PPV after mixed response. The AEW president suggested introducing breaks to PPV’s in the future.
AEW has emerged as a viable alternative to the WWE. While the WWE is still the centerpice of the industry, there are several things that AEW does better than them. One aspect of the promotion that fans have gotten behind is their tendency to listen to them.

AEW have built goodwill with their fans because they seem to consider their opinions before coming up with their own conclusions. An example of this can be seen in the manner in which president and owner Tony Khan has gone about with his decision to introduce intermissions in their pay per views.
Tony Khan reluctant to use Intermissions during PPV after mixed response
Tony Khan seemed more than eager to bring in the concept of intermissions into AEW PPV’s after it did well in their ‘The House Always Wins’ event on April 9. Speaking on the the April 14 episode of Busted Open Radio, he said:
“We have great and we could do that. Also, a [countdown] clock. If you watch the Road To or the countdown, you might’ve seen them, but that’s even better. They are part of the pay-per-view, putting some up. I think it’s a good idea. If [Busted Open hosts Tommy Dreamer and Dave LaGreca] like it, that makes me feel a little better. Maybe it’s a good idea. If the fans like it, then maybe it’s a good idea.”
He seems to have had a change of heart in the time since. Khan returned to the show this week and said the following:
“I don’t know if I’m going to do the intermission. I’ve gotten really mixed [reviews]…I might do long packages in the show and maybe give a timer to when we’re back, but I don’t think it’s going to be a big break in the show. The packages are a big part of the show.“
