Kenny Omega in WWE

Jim Ross speaks up after accidentally calling Kenny Omega WWE Champion on AEW Dynamite. The botch took place on tonight’s episode.

Jim Ross is a commentator on AEW. Before this however, he spent several years in the WWE calling legendary moments on the daily. For long he has added so much to the WWE programming, he became synonymous with the voice of the promotion.

Having taken his trade to AEW now, JR made a huge botch tonight, referring to Kenny Omega as the WWE Champion instead of AEW Champion.

Many felt the slip up was understandable considering the years of work he put in there. There were some however, who were critical for a professional making such a noticeable blunder.

Taking to social media, Jim Ross apologized for the error. He claimed that it was in the heat of the battle and on live TV.

“Yep. Heat of battle. Live TV. My bad,” he wrote.

This isn’t a good look on the legendary commentator. He has already been criticized enough for his body of work in the promotion compared to his stint with the WWE. There is also the case of him being extremely critical of the talent he works with.

To add to all of that, he now has this to his name. The fans are unlikely to let this die down anytime soon and JR will have to simply live with it for some time now.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
