AFC Ajax’s social media team has released a beautiful video ahead of the showdown against Juventus.

The Dutch heavyweights Ajax have come up with a brilliant post ahead of the titanic clash against Juventus. These two giants will meet in the Champions League Quarterfinals at Johan Cruyff Arena on Wednesday after spectacular comebacks from both Juventus and Ajax in previous rounds to qualify for the last eight.

Real Madrid beat Ajax in the first leg of the Round of 16 Champions League at Amsterdam 2-1. Going to Santiago Bernabeu, the chances of overcoming the 13-time Champions League is often considered as a monumental task, but the Dutch heavyweights bridled the reigning Champions to qualify for the Quarterfinals of the competition.

With all probabilities against Ajax, Erik ten Hag’s men put in an enormous shift to maul their opponents 4-1 at their own territory and qualify to the Champions League Quarterfinals for the first time in 23 years. Ajax were considered as the third best team in the group stage after Bayern Munich and Benfica, and above AEK Athens.

Despite those claims, the Dutch outfit secured 11 points and tasted nil defeats in the process which is a delightful record to have for Erik ten Hag. With the likes of Frenkie De Jong, Matthijs De Ligt, Hakim Ziyech, Dusan Tadic, David Neres, and Nicolas Tagliafico, the quality of Ajax cannot be brought into any sorts of doubts.

The squad might lack experience and their potential shall be witnessed if they put in a good show against an experienced Juventus side, who will have arguably the best player to have played the game, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Whatever happens in the future, Ajax fans will have fond memories from this Champions League campaign. In order to recreate moments, their social media have come away with a brilliant video post to celebrate their success until today.

With Cristiano Ronaldo travelling to Amsterdam, the Portuguese International’s teammate and current Chief Executive Officer Van Der Sar had something to say about him.

“Then he was at the start of his ambition to become the best football player in the world. The great thing was that he always said that. Of course more people say that, but he has really invested time and energy in it. Those abs don’t just come out of a jar. He also did a lot of strength training, he had his own boss and he took his rest well. Going out wasn’t really his thing either. ”

“From the inside he is a nice guy. A real family boy. If we had children, my son or Paul Scholes’ son, he would always play a little with them. At that time, it was just not as big as it is now. Could you really reach him in the field, with certain things. Giving him a shit and then he would listen.

“Now it is many times larger. In the field, he has become less dynamic and he is more likely to wait for his chances instead of making those long distances himself. If he plays on Wednesday, I will definitely visit him afterwards.” said Van der Sar.
