Twitter reactions on India’s win vs Thailand: Twitter reacts as India cruises to 4-1 victory over Thailand in their Asian Cup opener.
India made an impressive start to their AFC Asian Cup campaign as they registered a victory over Thailand. Sunil Chhetri scored a brace while Anirudh Thapa bagged a third with an incredible finish, and Jeje Lalpekhlua scored the fourth to to secure the three points.
With this win, India are currently first in their group after the game between UAE and Bahrain ended in a 1-1 draw.
India made a shaky start to their game and Thailand dominated most of the ball-possession, but the Blues scored against the run of play after referee awarded India a penalty for handball by Thailand’s defender.
However, Thailand equalized minutes after the goal with a setpiece.
In the second half, the Indian team thoroughly dominated and outplayed Thailand. Constantine’s side played with a high line and justifiably created more chances, as they continued to overrun Thailand’s midfield. As a result, they were rewarded with goals from Sunil Chhetri, Anirudh Thapa and Jeje Lalpekhlua.
Twitter was overjoyed with India’s victory:
I want to know what Constantine told his team in half time…#THAIND #AsianCup2019

Constantine is most successful Indian coach in over 20 years
I have been his biggest critic over his selection but can’t deny he is getting amazing results#THAIND #AFCAsianCup2019

Perfect start for India in the AFC Asian Cup 2019 beating Thailand 4-1. Excellent second half performance. More of the same in the next 2 matches and we will qualify for the last 16. #IndianFootball #BacktheBlues #AFCAsianCup2019

That 2nd half is perhaps the best India has played in a long, long time. Udanta, Ashique, Thapa, Narzary were outstanding. Kotal was such a big surprise after a terrible season. Bose keeps getting better.. Jeje finds his scoring touch. Chhetri adds to his legend #THAIND #AsianCup
