Riyad Mahrez had an unbelievable season with his club and country this year. The attacker won the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup with Manchester City, and won the armband assisting Algeria to AFCON glory.
He did contribute some important goals to his side, including the injury-time free-kick against Nigeria in the AFCON Semifinal and goal against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League final day. It was a pivotal contribution en route to success, but the fans have started backing him for the Ballon d’Or.
The Algerian did have a fair season with his club and country in terms of individual performances, but fans believe he’s worth to be up there during the Ballon d’Or gala.
