Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has called out Virat Kohli, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone, and challenged them to the ‘Padman Challenge.’
The ‘Padman Challenge’ is the brain child of Arunachalam Murugunantham, the inventor of the low-cost sanitary pad making machine. Akshay Kumar’s next release, Padman depicts Arunachalam’s journey from a simple man into one of India’s greatest social entrepreneurs.
Arunanchalam’s story is a touching one, as tried his best to provide healthy menstrual condition to the women in his family, and later on to the entire society. Akshay Kumar, who has involved himself in movies that have a social message, will play the lead role in this film and is eagerly waiting for the entire country to watch this movie.
Padman was initially slotted to release on Republic day, but the last minute release of Padmavat on the same day initiated a swift change in plans.
As part of the ‘Padman Challenge’, Bollywood stars have to post a picture of themselves holding up a sanitary pad on their social media platforms. This has been started as a means to spread awareness and end the taboo that surrounds the menstrual health condition for women.
Twinkle Khanna, the producer of this film, mentioned this very fact in his Oxford address, as the aim is to make menstruation a topic unlike, “Voldemort, (which) is not mentioned.”
Akshay Kumar completed this challenge and then asked Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Indian cricket star Virat Kohli to complete the task.

Fans are now waiting to see when Virat Kohli will complete the challenge. The Indian skipper is currently leading his nation against the South Africans in the six-match ODI series.
India are currently leading the series 2-0, with the side looking far superior to their hosts. India will now play the 3rd ODI in Cape Town in a couple of days time.
