Reports from France suggest that Arsenal are one of the three Premier League clubs monitoring Morgan Sanson.
France’s leading newspaper France Football reports that Arsenal are pursuing Morgan Sanson from Marseille. The French footballer is also on the radar for clubs like Tottenham and Chelsea.
Leading French journalist Arnauld Tulipier reported the transfer news, which adds credibility to it. The journalist was also the first one to report Sanson’s transfer to Marseille in January 2017.
The 23-year old midfielder enjoyed his best season in 2017-18, where the midfielder bagged 12 goals for Marseille. He played a pivotal role in Marseille’s campaign this year, where he played 53 games and helped the club finish 4th in the Ligue 1.
He also played a key role in Marseille’s Europa League campaign this year, which saw the French club reaching the final. Unfortunately, Marseille lost in the final to Atletico Madrid. Marseille, thus, also missed out on Champions League position.
France Football also reports that Tottenham are leading the race “as long as Mauricio Pochettino is at the club.” There are various reports of the Tottenham boss being linked to Real Madrid job this summer. According to the report, Pochettino has grown fond of the player and wants to bring him to Tottenham.
If Pochettino stays, Arsenal and Chelsea may have to increase their offer if they want to sign him, as both have failed to qualify for the Champions League for the next season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have already announced the signing of Stephan Lichtsteiner, and according to reports in France, have also completed a deal for PSG midfielder Yacine Adli.
