Monchi to Arsenal

Arsenal are said to be looking at Roma’s director of football Monchi.

Arsenal fans were in disbelief when their head of recruitment Sven Mislintat decided to leave the club just after one year of stay at the Emirates. The German worked wonders at Borussia Dortmund and his arrival was the most expected.

The board of director got changed from Ivan Gazidis to Sanllehi when the South African decided to leave for the Italian giants AC Milan in September.

According to Football London, it is understood that Sanllehi is the reason for Mislintat’s departure. It also understood that the transfer activity has frustrated the German who played a pivotal role in Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, Lucas Torreira, and Matteo Guendouzi’s arrival at the Emirates since last January.

After plenty of rumours, Arsenal have officially announced that they have parted way with Mislintat who is linked with a move to Bayern Munich. But, the Bavarians were quick to reject those claims which have been popping up in media recently.

The Gunners statement on Sven Mislintat’s departure read the following,

“Sven has been with us since December 1, 2017, and has done a truly outstanding job in helping us recruit players who are making a big impact now and will do so even more in the future.

“We wish him every success for the future and thank him for his extremely hard work on behalf of Arsenal.”

Mislintat added that he did have a great time at London despite leaving halfway through the season.

“It’s been an amazing experience to work at a great club like Arsenal in what has been a big time of change,” Mislintat said.

“I am excited about what the future holds for the club and am looking forward to new challenges for myself.”

But, it looks like Arsenal have found Sven Mislintat’s replacement quickly. Monchi, who worked with Unai Emery at Sevilla is the leading candidate in the shortlist to replace the outgoing German at the Emirates, as per the reports from the English outlet The Independent.

The duo worked wonders with the Spanish club, winning the Europa League thrice at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium. He played an integral part in Sevilla’s success over 15 years when he decided to leave to Roma in 2016.

His stint at Italian club has been a mixture. The Spanish International decided to sell Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker, Radja Nainggolan, Kevin Strootman, Antonio Rudiger, and Leonardo Paredes at Stadio Olympic.

The decision to cash in on have backfired the Italian outfit who are currently sitting fifth in the Serie A table, one point off the fourth-placed AC Milan. They had a great run to the Champions League semi-finals last term, but they did not bring in ideal replacements which has put pressure on the club.

In the forthcoming transfer windows, they might be forced to sell Cengiz Under and Kostas Manolas. Despite being split upon the fans, there is no doubt that he is one of the best footballing brains the world has had in the last 15 years.

The Gunners are reportedly looking to appoint someone as they as possible as they in the process of revamping the club and aim for success in the forthcoming years.
