Idrissa Gueye to Arsenal

Arsenal and Manchester City are interested in securing the services of  Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

Arsenal are currently without a formidable defensive midfielder. Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny, Lucas Torreira, and Mohamed ElNeny are the midfielder available at disposal. There is no doubt there is lack of quality.

Even though Granit Xhaka has improved under the management of Unai Emery, he has been blowing hot and cold as he has been making mistakes every now and then. Mohamed Elneny has been told to find a new club with Leicester City showing interest on the Egyptian.

Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi have been doing really well, but Unai Emery would like to increase his squad depth in the midfield department to bolster the chances of finishing in the top four and lift the Europa League which is the primary target for the Gunners.

According to Sky Sports, it is understood that Unai Emery is exploring about the possibility of luring Idrissa Gueye to the Emirates before the transfer window shuts down in two days time.

The Everton midfielder was attracting interest from the French outfit Paris Saint-Germain and submitted a transfer request in the hopes of securing a move to the French Champions, but Thomas Tuchel opted to sign Zenit Petersburg’s Leonardo Paredes which was formally announced on Monday.

In the pre-match press conference, Everton manager Marko Silva confirmed that the 29-year-old would miss the trip to Huddersfield because of a minor injury.

The Gunners are closing in on to secure the services of Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez who looks increasingly likely to be reunited with his former boss Unai Emery at England.

The report also adds on that Manchester City are also looking to lure him from Goodison Park. Pep Guardiola confirmed that the Citizens turned down an opportunity to sign Ruben Neves for a ludicrous fee of 100 million euros.

The Spaniard has not made it secret about his worry for the backup for Fernandinho. The Brazilian would turn 34 by next summer, thereby the Citizens are looking at Gueye who has impressed plenty of scouts in recent years.

Everton have totally rejected claims by quoting that they would not sell their star man at any price in this window. It is more likely to see the Senegal International remain at Merseyside unless some dramatic happens.
