Arsenal Transfer News: Mikel Arteta dreams of landing Phil Coutinho in the summer transfer market as the Gunners manager looks to strengthen his side. 

London club Arsenal are looking forward to climbing up the table after a miserable 2019/20 season that could potentially see them out of the top 6. The Gunners have already begun looking at the transfer market in the hopes of kickstarting that upward movement, and in the process, have become the latest side to be linked with Barcelona flop Phil Coutinho.

Phil Coutinho became a household name after his exploits with Liverpool in the Premier League. His brilliant form with the Reds earned him a big money move to La Liga giants Barcelona. However, poor performances with the Blaugrana saw the Brazilian sent out on loan to Bayern Munich with an option to purchase.

Phil Coutinho on Arsenal’s radar

Despite putting in a much improved shift with the German Champions, the Bavarians find it too expensive to make permanent the transfer. Especially keeping in mind that they are reportedly looking to bring in Leroy Sane in the summer. French daily Le 10 Sport claim that the former Liverpool player could very well ply his trade for Mikel Arteta who is desperate to see the Brazilian in his side.

The report claims that the Gunners may find the financial aspect of the deal hard to deal with considering the huge price involved. Arsenal may have to make a few sells to finance the purchase. However, that hasn’t stopped the club from holding talks with Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian.

The Brazilian has also been linked with London rivals Chelsea; who are reportedly looking at the possibilities of raising the sum this summer,
