Arsenal Transfer News: Mikel Arteta keen to acquire Man City star in the ongoing January transfer window to bolster his side.
Arsenal have shown signs of resurgence under new manager Mikel Arteta with impressive displays in their last few matches. However, both the club and the manager are aware that the side needs reinforcements if they are to become a threat in the Premier League once again.

The most pressing of Arsenal’s issues at the moment is their defence. The Gunners have already conceded 31 goals in the Premier League this season. Arteta is keen to improve his backline and is eying his former club for a solution.
Mikel Arteta to reunite with John Stones?
Before taking on the Arsenal Job, Arteta was the head coach at Manchester City. He is now looking to bring in John Stones from their fold into his own according to The Sun.
The England international has struggled for game time this season owing to his injury and subsequent loss of form. With the Euro 2020’s approaching and England manager, Gareth Southgate wanting his men to play every week, the move is not completely out of the realm of possibility.
Stones was a key member of the Manchester City side that won the Premier League twice in succession. However, he has only played 10 premier games this season with Pep Guardiola preferring to play midfielder, Fernandinho in defence ahead of him.
A move to Arsenal would greatly benefit both Stones and Arsenal. However, with City’s own defensive issues plaguing them this term, it seems unlikely that they would let go of Stones without bringing in a suitable replacement in the squad; lest they risk spreading their defence even thinner.
