Barcelona to release behind the scenes footage from the 2018-19 season including the loss to Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final.
For most of last season, Barcelona looked on course for a treble. The Catalan side had already pocketed the La Liga with matches to spare. Having already booked a place in the Copa Del Ray and a 3-0 win over Liverpool at Camp Nou left many fans with hope that the team would finally achieve the treble once again.

Unfortunately for them, they would go on and lose to Liverpool by a shocking margin of 4-0. With Liverpool leading by a goal on aggregate, Barcelona’s dreams were crashed once again. It didn’t take long for their campaign to derail. They would go on to lose to the Spanish Cup final to Valencia to end their brilliant season on a disappointing note.
Many have wondered what it must have felt like in the dressing room after the losses. However, they will not have to use their imagination anymore as Barcelona will soon come out with a documentary series titled ‘Matchday’ which will allow viewers to witness exclusive never seen before behind the scenes footage of the team.

The series will consist of 8 45-minute episodes based around 8 key games they played in 2019. According to Barcelona’s website:
“For the first time ever, TV cameras were allowed to film the everyday lives of players such as Leo Messi, Gerard Piqué, Marc-André ter Stegen and Luis Suárez, offering a more intimate portrait of them both during competition and in their personal lives.”
“Each instalment will allow viewers to experience ‘from inside’ how players faced all those important matches; from their arrival to the dressing room to their stepping out onto the pitch. Matchday also presents fly-on-the-wall footage of the excitement of victory and how the players deal with defeats.”
