Barcelona Transfer News: Barca president provides insights into Antoine Griezmann and Neymar’s transfer movement as the two continue to be linked with the Catalan club.

Barcelona have been linked with Antoine Griezmann long before the conclusion of last season. Neymar on the other hand, has emerged as a surprise transfer target. His candidacy came after his revelation that he wanted to go back to Barcelona, a place he reportedly called home.

Both these players have refused to report to pre-season training with their respective clubs. This has added more fuel to fire that the two players may turn out for Barcelona at the conclusion of the transfer season.
A Denial and a Revelation
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu however, insists that nothing has changed in regards to Neymar’s situation. He did add though that talks for Griezmann had already begun.
Mirror have reported that Bartomeu, while speaking during the unveiling of new back-up goalkeeper Neto on Tuesday, refused to speak in detail over Neymar when quizzed about the Brazilian.
“Nothing has changed regarding PSG and Neymar since what I said last Friday. We know Neymar wants to leave PSG, but we also know that PSG don’t want him to leave. We don’t like talking about players from other clubs, just as we don’t like other clubs talking about our players. There’s no Neymar case.”

Considering the bad blood between Barcelona and PSG, it is possible that Bartomeu doesn’t want to say anything that jeopardizes the possible transfer. He however, spoke more openly on Atletico Madrid star Griezmann, revealing that talks had begun to develop.
“I will reveal a secret. Yesterday there was a meeting in Madrid between (Barca director) Oscar Grau and Atletico CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin to start talking about that matter.”
