Barcelona Transfer News: Ivan Rakitic talks about Antoine Griezmann transfer to Barca

Barcelona Transfer News: Ivan Rakitic has spoken about a possible move for Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona.

Barcelona are on the course of securing a double for this season, but they want to be a dominant force. In order to lift the Champions League, the club are looking to seal the signature of Antoine Griezmann after signing Frenkie De Jong for a fee of 75 million.

The midfield and forward line have recently slowed down in recent years and it needs a tinkering. Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic, and Luis Suarez have aged and this has forced the club to bring in their replacements. Antoine Griezmann, though highly unlikely to replace Luis Suarez will replace Philippe Coutinho, who has had a torrid time with the club.

Antoine Griezmann has a high possibility of starting alongside Luis Suarez or could play through the left wing. Ivan Rakitic, who has been linked with a potential move to Manchester United has spoken about Griezmann’s qualities.

“Of course. I like him a lot. Leaving aside the fact that last summer he took my dream (winning the World Cup) and then I felt pretty bad (laughs). But he is a top level player, world class, and of course I would love him to play on my team. He is a great professional who has won almost everything and that can surely add to any team.” said Rakitic of Griezmann.

As per the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are prepared to shell out 125 million to land the World Cup winner from Barcelona. The French International has allegedly agreed personal terms with the club and a move remains a high possibility.
